This Privacy Policy describes how Heymi ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by Rivue, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application ("App"). By using Heymi, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account or use the App, we collect:
- Phone number — used for account creation and verification via SMS or voice OTP
- Name and surname — displayed on your profile
- Date of birth — to verify you are 18 years of age or older
- Profile photos — up to 6 images for dating profiles; profile photo for networking profiles
- Dating profile information — gender, gender preferences, bio, and interests
- Networking profile information — job title, company, industry, education, skills, bio, and optional CV (PDF)
- Messages — the content of messages you exchange with matches and connections
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we automatically collect:
- Device push token — to send you push notifications
- Active chat presence — whether you currently have a chat open, used to suppress duplicate notifications
- App usage data — through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, including crash reports and performance data
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Telnyx and Infobip — we use these providers to send and verify OTP codes to your phone number. They process your phone number for this purpose.
- Google Firebase — we use Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Firebase Storage, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for core app functionality.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Verify your identity via phone number OTP
- Display your profile to other users in the appropriate mode (dating or networking)
- Enable swiping, matching, connection requests, and real-time messaging
- Send push notifications about matches, connection requests, and new messages
- Enforce community safety — including processing reports and enforcing bans
- Improve, debug, and monitor the App via crash reports and analytics
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With other users — your profile information (name, photos, bio, and relevant profile fields) is visible to other authenticated users within the App.
- With service providers — we share data with Firebase (Google), Telnyx, and Infobip solely to operate the App. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
- Business transfer — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored in Google Firebase infrastructure in the europe-west1 region (Belgium). We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss.
Profile photos and CV documents are stored in Firebase Storage. Messages are stored in Firestore and are automatically deleted after 24 hours to protect your privacy.
Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
- Chat messages — automatically deleted after 24 hours
- Account data — retained until you delete your account
- Profile photos and CV — deleted when you remove them or delete your profile/account
- Push tokens — deleted when you log out or delete your account
- OTP rate-limit records — automatically expire after 1 hour
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — you can view your profile data within the App at any time
- Correction — you can update your profile information in the App settings
- Deletion — you can delete your dating profile, networking profile, or your entire account from within the App. Account deletion removes all associated data from our systems.
- Portability — to request a copy of your data, contact us at the address below
- Objection / Restriction — you may contact us to object to or restrict certain processing

7. Push Notifications
We send push notifications for new matches, connection requests, and messages. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device's system settings. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the App.
Your device push token is stored securely in Firestore and is only used to deliver notifications to your device. It is deleted when you log out or delete your account.
8. Age Requirement
Heymi is strictly for users 18 years of age or older. We collect your date of birth to verify this requirement. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete their data.
9. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics) — Google Privacy Policy
- Telnyx — OTP delivery — Telnyx Privacy Policy
- Infobip — OTP delivery for certain carriers — Infobip Privacy Policy
10. International Transfers
Your data is stored in the EU (europe-west1, Belgium) and processed by Google Firebase in accordance with GDPR-compliant Standard Contractual Clauses. OTP providers may process your phone number outside the EU; they are subject to their own data transfer mechanisms.
11. Cookies and Tracking
The Heymi mobile app does not use cookies. Our website may use session cookies for basic navigation. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on our website.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via the App or email if available. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
